So what would Zera look like in a more contemporary fantasy setting if she was an adventurer? Definitely something like this!
While Zera is generally never seen without her monstrous spear that is her main weapon, in this case she's about to land some pain with a lightning javelin that turns into a lightning bolt when thrown! How could StormFire not use a weapon after her namesake? For anyone that gets close she's got nets she can use to incapacitate them while she either chokes them out or does them in with her claws. Her ferocity and tenacity in battle is only matched by her determination to protect those she has come to regard as friends and all those that are counting on her in her homeland. Using her incredible agility and mobility she can quickly work to incapacitate enemies that think they have a tactical advantage; she loves bounding up and twisting the arms of cocky mages! Being a skilled hunter she loves to set up efficient ambushes and use the element of surprise and every other advantage she can get.
This was a lot of fun designing another outfit for her! We had to reduce her wings just a tad but I rather like the result. It's just impossible to dress her in anything protective without some piercings through the wings but I feel we reached a nice compromise here. The button-over vest was a nice evolution of the lighter vest I usually have her in. Now I just need to think about some headgear for her and get something drawn of her with her huge spear with shark's teeth serrating the end of it...one day. For now there are other weird terrible ideas to subject her to!
