Dreamscapes - Coming out (...of the Darkness)
A thing I forgot to post here, this was made in Autodesk Sketchbook for their June Hero Challenge...
Some time ago, I had this idea of a "color-inverted-cloud-leopard-dreamstalking-phantom-creature", I didn't intend to put in on paper (even less so a digital one) right away, but then came Planty along with this interesting challenge and I couldn't come up with anything better, so there. I have no definite name for this creature, so far I call it "void panther" but I might come up with something better in the future, this one in particular I call "Blár". It's mostly a feline, but it has hooves on hind legs and some feathers on the back of it's neck and these long "paradise bird" tail-feathers jutting out from it's elbows. It lurks in nightmares and dark dreams, where it subsists on unsuspecting stray memories, thoughts and feelings, which it attracts with the glowy bits (eyes, whiskers, tail-tip, tail-feathers). Sometimes though, even Blár finds out nightmares and dark dreams are just too gloomy and dull and sets out to seek greener (or bluer in this case) pastures. Coming out from one's own territory and stepping into a bright new dream comes with a lot of exposure and vulnerability... but could that ever stop a curious cat?
I plan a ref-sheet or something of that sort for this beasty in the future, alas, time is lacking...
