Herein is a shaded color commission done by
KrISTeIn of my female Banette character, Asya.
Asya as of late has become one of those characters in which I've delved a decent amount of time looking into to ponder and understand. Not just that, but there's more than a few matters that tied into the generation of this character. Lately, with the events that I've dealt with, I realize just how prominent a character she is for me, and I wonder just what she has in store for me now.
"I used to hate the rain. Even after all that I'd been through in my life, I always shied away from the wet kisses of the rain. It used to soil my skin a little, make me feel weak in contrast to the blazing sunlight. Make me feel like I could fall apart at the slightest touch. Now....now....I've shed enough tears to rival a thunderstorm, and it shows on every part of my body. The mistakes I've made, the choices I faced, the challenges I struck out to conquer...the friends I lost....they all show on the visage of this immortal's body. I used to hate the rain. Now...it hides the scars, and it hides my tears."

Asya is perhaps best described as a quiet, reserved character with an outer appearance of being rough and callous at times to others. Tsundere, if you will, but not quite.
This stems from her life, and a particularly potent experience as to why she has the appearance she does.
Her overall story is that at one point in her life, she ended up finding the person who abandoned her, but ended up finding out that he didn't abandon her, but rather lost her and could never find her. The person she had been searching for had become a powerful trainer during his time, especially with a Kabutops that was his partner pokemon. Realizing that she had spent a good deal of her life chasing a mistake in judgement, she ended up tagging along with him. During their adventures, they encountered a horde of Druddigon that had them pinned down. In the process of fighting them off, the Kabutops accidentally slashed open the back of her head, releasing her curse energy in a immense blast. The force of the blast ripped open her head in three places from the initial slash, consuming the Druddigon and her companions. She was found by a wandering traveller who patched her up with metallic rings to seal off her body once more. When she came to, she realized what had occurred, and wandered back to that location, picking up the Green Sash her human companion was fond of wearing and a bit of the tip of the Kabutops' scythe, that were all that remained. At this point, the tear is still there in the back of her head, but the rings keep her curse energy inside her, as she meddled with them over time to more effectively help her. The most important ring is the lowest one, as evidenced by the three-pronged tip of her head. She can't take the bands off, or her curse energy will flow out of her in the same manner again, now that the damage is done.
In her sorrow over the loss of her only companions, she's wept countless times over her lifetime, her energy shifting in coloration as a result from hostile pinkish-red to a morose dark aqua greenish-blue coloration. This reflected in her body color as well, which shifted to a darker grey coloration with a greenish tint if one looks close enough. The scars along the lengths of both of her arms are self-inflicted, and they've been roughly patched over time after every incident. It's just enough to keep her energy inside her, but still obvious that they're there.
