I had a wild dream years ago that was pretty epic and involved powered characters in an all out battle, but I only remembered two of them. This one in particular had a name. I seem to remember him being more like a flying squirrel, but he also changed into a weasel at some point. I decided that maybe he can change his form to look like different animals, as he kept changing into cloud and smoke to vanish and appearing in another place, even sometimes shooting across distances as a black cloud. The tail also had a distinct personality! I am not sure he was on any side in the conflict, and he certainly wasn't "good." I would say he was more there to cause trouble and get his own amusement. I was always concerned about posting him online should I have used him for something but he's been sitting in my files for so long I decided hell, I should just post him.
