... im so bad with titles
I think I... finished this? I dont know, I dont love it, but maybe its because my expectations were too high, but I dont know what to do to it anymore >.<
This is about the new Legion WOW expansion :D will enter wowhead's contest
Sadly I couldnt record the process, this file was so big it lagged enough by its own, didnt want to risk losing it
Question here!
I see people sell prints and such about that contain copyrighted characters (like pokemon) how does that work? o.o

Wow, all the detail in this picture is just stunning, and the textures are rendered really good as well. Not to mention the light and shadows, which are on spot!
Regarding your question: As far as I know, making any kind of profit with copyrighted characters that are not yours is not exactly legal. However, it is a grey zone: Most copyright holders allow artists to sell their work / selfmade merchandise of the characters because for the company, it's basically free advertisement. It only gets complicated if you sell the stuff big style, making thousands of dollars with it.

The final came out awesome. Great job!
As for selling copyrighted stuff, it really depends on the company. Some companies (like a lot of Japanese companies) don't mind if you sell fanart since they see it as free advertising, BUT other companies (like Disney, oooh boy, like Disney) will definitely send you a cease and desist letter if they find you selling their trademarked characters. So it depends on how strict Blizzard is with their trademarks. /shrug

Yeah, I had heard that about companies complaining but still saw people selling prints, shirts and such, so I was confused XD I have seen stuff with Blizzard´s characters, not much though (not as much as pokemon for sure ahahha ) Ill research around a little...

this is so amazing
fwiw i think, if you're asking cuz you wanna sell prints of this, that blizz would be ok with it - you could always shoot them an e-mail to be sure, but i'm fairly certain you can buy prints of tons of fanart and warcraft stuff in general (like check out the warcraft stuff on redbubble for example)
ofc i'm not a legal anything so my opinion is worth zero - safest bet would be to contact them directly (i'm sure there's a line to their legal team somewhere).
this is a fantastic piece of work that i would stick on my wall in a heartbeat

It seems its not really legal, and Blizzard says they dont want people to earn money from it, but they dont seem to be strict about it. At most, I could receive a letter saying to remove it from the site, because there wont e big earnings or anything.
I guess itll be on my redbubble soon XD

As far as I know, (i am not a lawyer) it is legal to draw it and show it off, and in fact, most companies do appreciate fanart, but they don't like people making money off of it. Like all things grey, check first and see if you can't come to an agreement (ie a licence fee for every print) before you start selling the prints.
