Endless Realms bestiary - Storm Dragon Scion
Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
In the game, dragons are, essentially, lesser gods - one for each major cosmic force and elemental power. Scions are earthly avatars of their will, and are generally much less powerful than the dragon they represent, as a dragon may create many lesser clones of itself to send out upon tasks, yet scions remain amongst the most powerful creatures to be found in the world.

*looks at dragon painting again then back at you, then back at Dragon* I'm confused, you're NOT proficient? *points at lightning wings* That's master level work there, sooo, you're either a savant. OR you're a master who can still learn which makes you a true master =3
The stories involving dragons that are already out there ... I have novels started, other novel ideas, and yet I've never finished writing anything. It's as if my stories will be lost in the mass of dragon content pouring out into the world. How familiar the dragon background here sounds is a bit unsettling, but I suppose someone was bound to come up with similar ideas if I didn't bother to ever get them written.
I love dragon art, and this is an epic piece. I know that term is used too often. Yet it doesn't discount from its truth. This is astonishing. If you aren't a master of dragon art, then you're truly on your way. Believe in yourself.

Thank you kindly, I really do appreciate it <3 I find dragons challenging - something about their body shapes and vast varieties they can come in. It should be liberating, but somehow I find it difficult to "communicate" what I want through dragonic forms sometimes.
As for the idea, I'm pretty sure it's already out there! Not necessarily applied to dragons, but the idea of super-powerful gods sending out lesser copies of themselves to do their bidding or as extensions of their will is, I'm pretty sure, not terribly uncommon? Just uncommon enough to be kind of novel or a nice change of pace from the usual, I think :)

Heh, well, it's not so much that I like Elemental stuff, but I have to do a lot of it for the game I'm working for :b
Buuuuut! Happens, I actually -do- like elemental stuff :b It's hard for me to say - I'd say I'm Earth/Water, but I think I like earth and fire elemental stuff most :3

*nods* I think water is generally considered the healing or supportive element, the way it's fluid and contours to whatever is around it, and because it's such an essential part of life (not just required by living things, but generally for life as we know it, if you get my distinction).
I Completely agree with you :). I see myself as a "Support" or a healer in many games. From nature and Holy to Dark Mending arts ^^. Like i would use dark magic to help others if need be,thats how i feel IRL too. Im not a doctor but im a good Massager ;) (thats kind of a support isnt it? XD)
