Personally, I don't really have a preference. When I made Jake I simply did it because there weren't any (or at least I never noticed) foodog characters in the Fandom, certainly not the juxtaposition of a noble guardian type creature reduced to a trashy, redneck lifestyle. And besides that, I believe foodogs are traditionally more of a lion than a dog, so it is what it is!
