i had so much fun drawing this one, probably because i like drawing guns, and cowboys, and interesting poses, and effeminate young men. so yeah, this is curtis

i've like, spent the past 5 minutes trying to explain why i like cowboys so much but it was all really redundant and annoying to type, but basically all my other characters are cowboys, and i decided i wanted an actual character. i figured a Horse That Is A Cowboy would be interesting, and cute, so there ya go. his design itself isn't really that interesting, but i've been drawing him a lot otherwise and ended up giving him a cuter design by adding things here and there. he still wears both belts and suspenders, though.

his name is my favorite part, he was originally gonna be named winchester because he's a colt, but then i decided He's A Ponyboy So Let's Name Him Curtis. yes, i'm an asshole

again, the coloring is shit, and this was the last one that i actually colored in clip studio because it really, really sucks. you're probably looking at it thinking it looks fine, and like i said with the upload i did of Not Picnic, it's probably just my experience with the program overshadowing my actual opinion of the coloring itself. the background especially upsets me, because i was wanting to have him standing in front of a sunset, but there was no fucking way i could have painted a background in this program and i didn't feel like taking it into sai, which i'm far, FAR more comfortable with, so instead you get bright glowy circle and lackluster gradient, again
