“Where did you get that?” There was a feeling of urgency in Nigel’s voice, almost desperation. Shade slowly put an arm around Melody’s shoulders and brought the ghost-type closer to himself, at the same time in which Ember and Heist observed the Garde carefully. Melody slowly raised her hand and offered the box to Nigel.

“Mom and dad bought it to me…” She said, worriedly, as Nigel opened the box and peered at its contents. Charla had reached the group at this point, at the same time in which everyone observed Nigel carefully, waiting for his reaction.

Nigel looked at the stone contained inside the box. He raised one finger and traced out the lightning-shaped crack in it, as if to confirm it was really there, then wordlessly closed the lid of the box. His eyes were fixed on the Froslass, not even batting an eye to her companions or even to Charla standing beside him. “We need to talk.”

A promotion pic for the PCA fanfic "Rubicon" (Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3), which  tallen and I collaborated on to make (he did all the work, really) that goes on to explain how one Dawn Stone did more to affect their lives than just make one of them evolve.

Also a nice excuse to draw Nigel as a Kirlia and Tallen's own Melody as a Snorunt. Apologies if I took too many design liberties with her, dude.
