Someone asked me an interesting question today, which made me think about a lot of things. I gave them quite a swift response, but it got me thinking about a few things that had happened in my past, and in my present, and I decided that I kinda wanted to talk about them, and a little bit about myself. I don't tend to talk about myself much, but I feel I can portray a pretty positive message through doing this, so here I go! ♥
So I've made a quite a few remixes now, and I have quite a few watchers, all of which I cannot express how grateful I am just to even be on your watch list. The fact that you had taken even just the smallest moment out of your day to listen to something I've created, and decided to watch me so that you could keep up with anything else I submit is just... Sort of mind blowing, to be honest.
I thought it would be pretty cool to make a post like this! I mean, if you're here solely for music and nothing more, feel free to just click back and forget you even read this far; I will still love you the same just for visiting ♥ But for anyone who is interested, I thought I would type a little about myself and give you all a picture that I took... Today.
There are many pictures I've taken that are (if I'm allowed to say so myself), really quite well taken; where my make-up is done IMMACULATELY and my hair has been freshly died and I have some sort of bright lipstick on and I'm kinda pushing my chest out or some shit... And yeah. Theyre pretty good pictures! But I felt this one was a bit more honest. Mainly because I've lazily put my makeup on and I'm wearing my glasses and some modest clothing. Although you can't really see my makeup... Thanks, sun -.-
Buuuut... Being someone who spends all her time sat behind a computer either writing songs or playing video games, this picture is a little more honest! :o Although actually that shirt is really open at the back, but hey, you cant all see that, so it's okay ;D
I'm 22 years of age, female, from the UK, and Im a human being. The latter is obvious, but this is furaffinity, so I thought I better clarify :o Sadly, in the species drop down list, I couldn't find 'human'. I thought that would have been quite witty to tag the submission as that, but whatever :P
I'm actually a transexual - although that doesn't really need to be said. I'm as much of a girl as any other, and if any transgender people are told otherwise, you can come straight to me and I will tear the offenders teeth out with a pair of pliers ;D
(Keyboard warrior moment just there♥ Reminds me of my Runescape days when you would beat someone in the wilderness and they would spout wild profanities and say ludicrous things like 'FITE ME IRL', whereas that was clearly impossible due to basic geography/physics) >.<
As I mentioned earlier, I spend a lot of time at my desk. I'm a pretty introverted person and like time to myself. I'm not great in social scenarios, I will be honest! Contradicting this, I do spend a lot of time playing online RPG's, where socializing is kind of essential. But I suppose everything is alright when you're sat behind a screen. You can say whatever you like without anyone really knowing the truth; like when you start sexting with someone and they're like... 'What are you wearing babe... ?' and you describe how youve just slipped into bed with your stockings on and a push-up bra that really exposes your cleavage... When really you're sat there wearing your dads jumper and a pair of socks.
But I play single player games too. I was brought up with video games, although Im not fond with where the industry went. I still spend my time playing a lot of retro games like Spyro the Dragon, or replaying the old Pokemon games. Those are where my best memories lay, after all :o
Apart from making music, I dont really have any other hobbies. I play the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG on occasion but anyone who plays that can probably agree with me that 98% of the community is made up of assholes, so I don't really enjoy it unless I'm playing with some friends. I have a mild interest in other card games; Magic the Gathering has always been up in my list of things to play but I've just never gotten around to it. I dabbled with Cardfight: Vanguard!! (two exclamation marks... drives me insane...), but it sort of plays itself. Oh well :o
My favorite color is pink, because it doesnt really have any bad connotations. Everything it represents is quite nice, and theres not many bad things you can say about it. Unless its hot pink, cause that color makes my eyes burn D: My favorite food is pizza cause Im so original and uh... my favorite operating system is Mac OSX. I know right, such a hipster! Sadly it doesn't really do well for gaming, so I dont own a mac. I also cant really afford one...
Uh, so I've waffled a little bit. I've probably strayed a little from the point so I'm going to return there now...
The question I was asked was 'What do you want to do in life?'
Aaaand I had to think about it for a little. I asked the question back while I was thinking and they told me all about their dream job, what they wanted to do and where they wanted to work, etc, etc. Which was fine! Completely legit.
I told him the best job for me would probably be a musician. As a dream job... yeah, that'd be pretty cool. Writing/performing music... That would be great. Although I dont think that will ever happen; I did actually take music studies during school, and in the end I got a 'U'. For those unfamiliar with the UK grading, depending on how many marks your work throughout the year gets, you get a grade, from A to F, in most places. A being the best, F the worst. If your work doesnt even meet the parameters for an F, you get a U, which stands for 'Ungraded'. I was told that I was tone-deaf and I had made the wrong decision in picking music.
Theres a great message in there already; that if you want to do something, if you're REALLY passionate about something in life; Do it. I hate to sound like Shia LaBeouf, which his terrible motivational video where he just tells people to 'Just do it'. Yeah thats awful advice. But seriously, if you have that passion for something, ignore what everyone else says. Dont look at other peoples work and think 'Wow, I'll never be that good.' Look at it, and be inspired by it. Learn from it, and improve. Just keep at it. Even ignore your own thoughts. The little person in your head telling you that your work sucks. That you'll never reach the level you want to. Cast that inner-perfectionist aside and keep on trying. No one will laugh at you... And if someone does? Well it's a blessing, it just shows you that you dont need that person in your life.
So linking back to the original question, yeah, my ideal job might be to be a musician. But what I really want to do is help people. Help people who are suffering with the same issues I am, whether I have overcome them or not. Most importantly, I want to inspire. I hope that one day I can inspire people with my music, make people want to improve their own *whatever* when they listen to it, whether it be their own music, art, writing, dancing, whatever. I want to inspire people and give them the spirit to fight their demons and become who they want to be, to achieve the things they need to achieve and to measure their own success; not the success society tells them they need to achieve.
I don't really know what else I want to say here. But I just wanted to thank all of you. Those who are just reading this because it popped up on the front page, those who are reading this because it popped up in their submission feed, those who listen to my music, those regulars who always find the time to comment and tell me how well I am doing. I want to thank all of you.
Because you are all an inspiration to me.

This was a long but worthwhile read Rytha! it's interesting to get to know the real you.
This was also a pretty touching read too actually. it's also cool to read your thoughts on a few things here.
I'd type more but i'm running out of things to type and whatever comment I put here will not be as good as what you put in the description.
That very last line is really nice of you to say! To be fair, I could say the same about you and your music! I honestly hope you remain within the fandom for many more years to come! it'd feel much emptier with out what you have to offer!
Stay well Rytha!

Ah I'm glad you enjoyed it. Im sure I will stick around, as best as I can, anyway.
It is a long read! To be honest, I don't expect many people to get through it all. But it's here as a sort of reference now, I guess, should anyone get intrigued. Likewise, you need to stick around also! Friendly, inviting, positive people is what any fandom needs; it makes it a safer, nicer place for everyone to enjoy.
You keep yourself well also, and Im only a message away should you need to complain about anything serious, or just the rate of inflation and the cons about having a corporate, capitalist society. ♥

No problem Rytha!
The longer it takes to read, the more interesting it becomes! And yeah, that's true! Some of the nicest people i've met come from within the fandom!
Oh and don't worry, I intend to stick around for awhile!
Thanks, i'll message you if need be or just for a chat of sorts! I need to thank you, without your kind words making me feel welcome at the beginning, Imy FA page would be empty and only be used for watching people whose stuff I liked when I lurked the sight.
Thanks for being someone I can call a friend!

Uh-huhh...So it seems as though you can shapeshift as well... |3
But really, I'm glad that you seem to be sticking around; I honestly feel rather lucky to have come across yous~
I dunno, I guess other's haven't been willing to at least say "hi" to me lately, so I've probably been feeling rather jaded on that note...
Again, thanks for being a rather charming dragoness to me~ *Nuzzles your cheek*

I can shapeshift :o But its a hidden ability of everyone on FA... Whether we know it or not ;3
Naw, don't be silly. You're not lucky to have found me at all. I try and say hello to everyone who takes an interest in my things. Its only fair that I give a part of my day back to them. They've spent a part of their day on me!
And of course someone as shy and adorable as yourself would be no exception ;)
Good luck with the art you're currently working on, Im looking forward to it!

Well, I guess I'm more along the lines of feeling "fortunate", but that's probably saying the same thing |D
*Blushes, smiling sheepishly* Ohhh, c'mon now...! I am...? >////o
There's also photography for me to do in addition to the comic; I'm glad that you're anticipating it~

Just stumbled across your page from megagengar95's page (He's pretty cool), and I saw this. You seem like a really cool person. I totally feel you with social stuff, I'm not too great myself xD, but believe me. I enjoy talking. :P
I am passionate about music too actually! Nice to see a fellow musician! (despite us being two completely different types of artists x3 ) I say you keep up on it, and don't give up! Even if you may not be able to pursue it as a giant career, music is something you enjoy right? Keep at it cause you loooove it! x3

Aaaah now you are awesome!
I have watched you because I know you're capable of producing great music. I haven't listened to any yet; but I'm about to! Just replying to everyone first Looking forward to hearing some heavy guitar and such
Music is something I enjoy, yes, so I will keep going.
(Actually I tell a lie, Im listening to one of your covers while I'm typing this. This is awesome! You recorded this live? The quality is perfect, and you have BAGS of talent! I'm watching you for more, so dont disappoint! ;3)

I actually recorded my guitar with my phone, meaning I'm a poor cheap cheeweenie for now till I get better equipment. Lmao But thank you so much! Things like this really makes me wanna keep going and moving foward. I actually have been wanting to try blending some EDM and rock. I kinda already tried it by covering an EDM song: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17566891/
Eventually, there won't be only covers. I actually have mademy own riffs, but I'm sticking with different covers for now to better different techniques, and to just have plain fun! x3 But thank you for watching! I will not disappoint. xP As long as you keep going as much too yea? -w-

I could sit here and talk about how we share similar interests, and situations, but there is really only one thing that's on my mind after reading this.
Where does your strength come from? This ability to push past fear, doubt, and expectation. How do you have the power to be you?
Where does your strength come from? This ability to push past fear, doubt, and expectation. How do you have the power to be you?
Oh my. I woke up and checked my FA, and when I read this comment I started crying like an actress! :P
This is the sweetest thing ever, that you would ask that. I'm really introverted, and I rarely talk about my problems, so it can be difficult for me to receive the proper support that I sometimes crave. It can be difficult to be strong, and a lot of the time I am not; there have been many times where I have given up!
But as I said up there.. What I really want to do is to help and inspire people... And to do that you have to be strong! To be honest, I don't really know how I push past those things. But I know that surrounding yourself with people who care about you really helps. The more times you fall down, the stronger you will be when you get back up.
Thanks for this comment. It's rare that someone describes me to be strong. I wouldn't particularly agree, either. But the thought you have given to me is a very special thing, and if it's anyone that helps me push past those things, it is people like yourself.
If you ever want to talk about those interests or situations, just send me a message ;D

Racism was an example, is all.
And yeah, I've met some nasty people here, which sorta goes against everything this community stands for, I feel?
But it's the internet; luckily you can just cut those people straight out of your life! Which I have learnt to do with less hesitation these days.

Tone-deaf? That's a surprise, although I'd think that's only a slight handicap in being a musician. Beethoven went deaf-deaf, and he kept on composing. I mean, you'd never get anywhere doing improv jazz, and singing (plus a handful of instruments like theremins) would be out, but that'd probably be it. Keyboards are always in tune, and for other instruments there are electronic tuners. Most music is variations on certain forms, so it's just as much having to learn the rules of a style as anything else. Plenty enough kids in my high school's band couldn't figure out how to tune their instruments, and it wasn't that big a deal. The band director just went around with a digital tuner.
Yeah, I think the person who said that was just being a bit nasty, although I truly was terrible way back then. I guess its a good thing I play the keyboard then ;3
I didn't actually know that about Beethoven! He went deaf, but continued to write songs?
He is such a badass.

I'm glad I know you a bit better & thanks for sharing :3
I use a Mac right now and you're right it's terrible for gaming, or more like..., having more than one game... I've been meaning to upgrade my RAM so I can handle more games & streaming and stuff
Also that last part about doing what you're passionate about!!! Well said!! I haven't always been the best at drawing, but it's something I enjoy doing, and I've learned so much more than younger me probably thought I could. ;w;

I dont know much about them, but isn't upgrading a Mac really difficult? I hope you manage to do it eventually anyway, gaming and streaming is always fun :3
Aw, thank you! If you enjoy doing it, then that's all that matters. Sure, it might be depressing when you see other peoples works and it's 9999x better then yours, but whether you know it or not, you ARE improving, and you WILL get there someday!
... That's speaking generally, of course. Im not saying your art is worse than anybody elses!! :P

the ifixit page says the difficulty is easy to change the RAM, & the visual guide itself seems not that difficult, I'm just not very experienced in modding computers or sensitive tech @w@;; so I guess I've been putting it off because I'm nervous about it
& yeah!! Improvement for me is very subtle, but I notice it when looking back in recent years artwork >:3

What an interesting read! Your remixes are always enjoyable to listen to when they pop up on my SoundCloud stream. I've always wanted to try to make my own music, be it digital and also drumming. Unfortunately I never delved far into digital music making and drumming I had to kind of stop cause it was too loud for parents and neighbors :c. I hope when I'm done with my degree and get my own place I'll be able to learn drums once more and perhaps even sooner I'll get a midi controller to play around with.
You are inspiring and motivational, thank you for the content you create! Continue to do what you love. :3

Awww, that makes me so happy to hear! Im glad you still listen to them. We haven't spoken in ageeees, we should play TF2 sometime soon or something!
I remember you telling me that you had an interest in making music, I think. Cant you get an electric drum kit? I've used one before and they're surprisingly quiet, and with some headphones you can get a nice sound out of them!
I love drumming! Making music via hitting things is always going to be a lot of fun! ;D
If you ever want a few times on digital music production, I can try my best to tell you what I know. I'm only a message away!

Yess, I'm almost always up for a game of TF2! Alternatively a vast majority of other games, not too picky xp I was going to start ArachAge sometime, heard there was something release a month or so ago and a server merge :o
I do have an electric drum kit aswell however it's a relatively cheap one ~7-8 years old now so the pads are kinda loud when you hit them so even headphones weren't that good to use (not to mention the cord being irritating xD) *eep*. I should see if I can bring that kit upto my house over by my uni tho since its just my housemates and they won't mind :D.
I'd love to learn more about creating things digitally! I've very briefly looked at FL studios and made a simple drum beat hehe. I think I need to start right from the beginning :o. I'll try to message sometime! *hugs*
I do have an electric drum kit aswell however it's a relatively cheap one ~7-8 years old now so the pads are kinda loud when you hit them so even headphones weren't that good to use (not to mention the cord being irritating xD) *eep*. Yeah there was a bit of a clusterfuck with the servers. It's a good game but very tedious and definitely pay to win. However it's good at disgusing that and to be honest, it's quite enjoyable if you just stop trying to do the 'win' part so much :P
At least if your housemates have a problem you can tell them to stfu ;D A bit harder to do that with family. You should totally do that! Playing the drums is so much fun!
Actually, I sorta started with FL Studio. it's a very overwhelming program, but there are 5348957348957 tutorials out there for it, a lot of them aimed at absolute beginners. And of course, I would be happy to help, too! :3
