I think what I want to work on, when I try to define it, is;

* since many contour lines and shadows are basically the same thing in terms of lighting, I want "pushing line weight" to overlap more with "having interesting areas of shadow and contrast."

* I feel I'm a little too timid about using big black/dark areas, which really affects composition overall.

* ideally, I'd like to work more on hatching and crosshatching, something I tend not to do, but it'd be really useful to have an ink way of indicating half-tones.
