Welp, I've finally finished the thing I've been working on!
If the game doesn't work for you, have a fiddle with the DOSBox settings. They're in \DOSBOX\dosbox.conf (open it with notepad).
You run the game with START DREAMING.bat, and basic controls are covered in the Readme. I'd recommend giving that a peek.
You can download the game here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xevj0aiiq.....amAGI.zip?dl=0
Things to note:
It's kinda minimal - there's only one obtainable item in the game, and the highest achievable score is 2.
I'm not the best artist (but I had loads of fun with the animations).
There are two endings.

Ah, sorry!
Yeah, interaction's a bit on the light side - aside from talking to characters and looking at various things, there isn't a whole lot to do.
Really just the one obtainable item, too. I tried to make it as obvious as possible, since it's the only one~ xD
Out of curiosity, what made you think 'talk' was the only option allowed?

Oh boy. I have no experience whatsoever with anything after System 7, so this is gonna get rough.
Okay, so DreamAGI.zip has a DreamAGI folder inside of it which holds all of the actual game files - for example, SIERRA.COM is in there.
You'd have to copy the DreamAGI folder (the one with SIERRA.COM in it) to DOSBox's mounted directory.
If you don't know how to mount a directory in DOSBox, I'd say follow the instructions here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eRd1tn-xIo
In the tutorial, he entered the User Folder and made a folder called DosBox.
You'd copy the DreamAGI folder (the one with SIERRA.COM in it) to that DosBox folder.
Then follow the video's instructions to mount the DosBox folder inside the DOSBox window: (mount c ~/DosBox [press enter]) (c:\ [press enter])
You'll have to mount the DosBox folder in this way every time you run DOSBox.
After that you'd navigate to the DreamAGI folder inside the DOSBox window (cd DreamAGI [press enter]) then type (sierra.com [press enter]).
Hopefully that does it for you! :3

I went at the whole thing pretty slowly, to be honest. :P
I've played around with AGI stuff for a few months now, but didn't really start making this until about three weeks ago. I started with the rooms, then the character sprites/animations, then the logic, all spread out a little bit every day. It's not exactly a long game, but it was pretty fun to work on. xD

Ah, thanks loads dude! It really does mean a lot~
Those low-res animations were a blast to do! I felt I sort of cheated with the stationary NPCs, though. If I get around to doing more AGI stuff (I've got a few ideas), I'd definitely focus more on animation.
Did you happen to get both endings, by the way?

Awesome!
I wasn't sure about the hungry dude's huge-to-soft transition. It felt too sudden, but I figured heck - dreams are hardly predictable. Figured giving hungry-dude the thing might remind Eli what hungry-dude looks like in his natural state/distract him from his nightmare. I thought the sudden, lighter ending might be a good contrast to the unpleasant, noisy one... kinda cheesy, I guess. :P
Plus I wanted to add a chubby rabbit in his briefs. xD
Thanks again for the kind words, man!

Try "look" first, I suppose. That'll tell you about the area you're in, and give you more information. You can type "look object" (replace 'object' with the name of the object :P) to examine it - you can do that with characters, too. You can also "talk character" (replace 'character' with their name or species). Talking is the main thing that advances the game, you'll have to talk to each character multiple times.
Hope this helps!
