Dead Horse Dreaming - Diamonds in the Rouge
I haven't uploaded music anytime recently...
But anyway, i was going through some directories of stuff, and found this track... i don't think it's something that i would put on my album (who knows though, maybe with some work... i was having trouble deciding how to balance the two dueling voices mostly.) but i find it to have expressive value anyway... It does a good job of embodying the way i felt at the time.
Devastated. Very cold.
still eyes of polished stone...

I think perhaps one of the voices is too high compared to the other, it sort of drowns it out. I miiiight be saying the words a little too fast too...hmm... I'm no music expert I dunno. Maybe a little less high pitched is the trick, it's supposed to sound creepy right? I dunno if any of the suggestions will help or not, I have no idea how to make music. XD
Yeah... the thing is, i can't have the two voices the same, because then it's hard to hear either of them... even though they're different octaves and mixed so that they have different frequency spikes, it's hard juggling them. I chose the higher one to be the main one, which i think is best... i dunno. it just sounds messy no matter how i mix it... could also be the recording too.
It's a very interesting mix of harmonies. Odd, certainly unsettling. I get into the sweet melody of the instruments but then the voices keep me uncomfortably jarred. I would say, it describes the days for me when I'm so deep into my depression the pain and sorry become bittersweet, painfully sweet.
I'll be honest, this isn't my thing as far as listening music goes, but by god do I love it for setting a mood and expressing a very real emotional state. This is art.
