Hey faggots, my local Pathfinder group started a new campaign and I am playing a lass named Var'Muth. She's a sassy young kobold who don't need no man and also disrespects city folk who can't survive in the wilderness.
Also she rides her Allosaurus, Tarkus. Yes, Tarkus is named after my favorite space marine. No they do not fuck.
[Knowledge Pathfinder DC 50]: The class is Hunter, and I selected Allosaurus as my animal companion. We're at level 2 right now, and I am basically the best tank in the party with an AC of 21 (or 23 if I use combat expertise). The major feature here is that I set up flanks with Tarkus and gain a +4 to hit, making my present +6 go up to +10 (and his +5 go to +9; and his claw attacks hit at +7/+7 if we have a full round action in). Tarkus took Toughness as his animal companion level 1 feat, is the archetype Bodyguard (provides a +2 to Perception and Sense motive), and has Multiattack as his level 2 animal companion feat. Oh and we both get Outflank for free!
What's sexy about this build is that at level 3, when I'm attacking the same target as Tarkus, we are always considered flanking. Further more, I get Precise Strike. At that point, I am always riding him and our first charge attack gives us a +6 on the hit, with a passive +4 at all times and a +1d6 to all attacks. As you can imagine, when we hit level 3 we're doing Full Round Actions at myself swinging at +11 with my longsword, Tarkus does a flurry of Bite/Claw/Claw at +10/+8/+8, and the damage total looks as such: 2d6 + 4, 2d6 + 2, 1d6 + 1d4 + 1, 1d6 + 1d4 + 1; an average damage of 26 low average/ 34 high average a round. Oh, and let's not forget that I am riding the 40 movement dinosaur.
The end result here is that my charging Level 3 swings look like +13, and tarkus bites at a +12; at level 3 you have to roll like a 2 to miss with those kinds of numbers against average AC (which is in 17-19 range). We drag a whole lot of threat. Oh, and I have Lead Blades to make my 1d6 longsword become a 1d10 longsword- and that is the funniest fucking shit because the average damage spikes up by 2 or 3 points. Again, not scary like consistently hitting for 1d12 + 11 damage, but it's really hype to throw potentially 6d6 + 2d4 + 8 a round at level 3.
Also, the party is a little concerned about my character being a wee bit OP. They'll learn in time that level 3 is where my DPS/Round plateaus until level 5 when we can start taking power attack. Then we add a whole lotta +2's and -1's to that absurd hit math.
PS: At level 5 or 6, Tarkus gets Improved Natural Weapon on his claws, taking them from 1d4 to 1d6; and as you might imagine, that means we're throwing a potential 8d6 + chips every round; AKA almost as good as power attack though a bit more swingy and hit-likely.

In one of my D&D groups, I had a.. kenku? I think.. crow people basically.. hunter that I had a large silver python as his companion. He was tall and lanky, and wore a large hooded robe where his python would stay coiled around him when not in combat or in towns. Really enjoyed that character. Got hella wasted after a dungeon raid, and while being ambushed in the tavern, thought it would be a great idea to feed the snake (who was also shit-faced drunk) a fire-breathing potion because drunk logic decreed a fire-breathing serpent would be awesome! Turns out, wooden taverns are pretty flammable, and dark dwarves are not! Good times~
I love Kenku a whole bunch! They're big dumb stupid birds in my world setting for pathfinder and fantasy campaigns-
