I had to pay mine off in installments. Partials aren't too expensive but I guess that all depends on how much you consider expensive. My full suit cost $900 and I paid it over several months.

When we got done with that photo shoot our feet and ankles looked like a porcupine. It took -hours- to get rid of them all. Luckily we keep our fur nice with Armor All and it helped them slide out a bit easier. A good majority of them came out with just a slicker brush. The seeds are definitely designed to stick into real fur more than fake fur!
