Cute and silly, but never understood the logic of the artists/commissioners of this kind of think when it is so obvious that the much larger, and usually extremely dangerous "prey" doesn't simply turn around crush the little booger's tiny head in its jaws while it is still swallowing the tail. This kind of think would make slightly more since, if there was a panel showing the bigger creature hypnotized, or immobilized somehow.
