a buddy of mine showed me how to do it. its basically a sheet of paper thats been air brushed and progressively gets lighter

combination of chaos warrior and space marine bits.

This guy is absolutely amazing! Your GS work is so flawless >.< You wouldn't happen to have close-ups of the head, specifically the hair would you? Looks like the kind of this I want to put on one of my guard commanders, but I'm having trouble finding a decent reference.

that would be the Walken comparison pic?

it was pretty easy actually, i just out a layer of GS over the existing har shape and used a knife to make lines in it.

Did you use anything to hold the gs on or set it after? *mutters about holding models to lamps as a possibility, then remembers plastic melts*

nope, but it helps to clean the surface first, and maybe use some sandpaper to give a flat surface some texture first.
