It's funny how myself hasn't changed much in their mindset. I have that in common with Shiny. I'll always be the same funny dude and art enthusiast who likes to tell people that they need to treat their talent with the right equipment and the care for that each project will be a joy for them.
Art is wonderful in that it makes a hobby that expresses your feelings towards others and even at times when you might feel a little bored you can quickly pick yourself up with scribbling something for your own and other peoples' amusement. I definitely see sketchbook doodles as a sign of somebody who is always eager to let his creativity out, even when they might be possibly doing it at the funnest times like during class at school. Not saying that you diid this one at that time but I find the connection still quite fun to imagine. =D
Like before, you are really good with character expressions and I enjoy characters taking part in happy activities. Aside from drawn and written art I surely find taht music adds greatly to ones happiness and that's why it basically became a symbol of joy in the eyes of the people. It makes me always feel good to listen to music and the very same goes for Shiny who quickly became a music enthusiast and musician when he got into modern society. Parties and dancing are just as nice to the lil guy.
In that regard, let me tell you how in lots of cases when watching at still images I cannot help but seeing the characters move like in an animation. And that kinda thing usually only works to the best if an artist does have a good feel for character proportions and posing. Joshua's 'Night Fever' inspired pose looks fun and the way Shiny's arms open up here make it all the more inviting in my opinion. These guys are enjoying themselves and and their time in the spotlight.
Speaking of which, the fun additions of the cartoony music notes and spotlights add even more fun to the scene. The randomness of having another Joshua face doodle there fits with that it was probably a random idea to draw the scene there.
So thanks once more, Joshua. I am sure that Shiny and his Macawdude had a great time and their fun is pretty contageous to everybody getting to enjoy watching them. I definitely do still and hopefully my late addition to your artwork in the form of this post might bring you a smile as well. Because it's how I hope to give your selfesteem a push whenever needed. You deserve it definitely. X3
