We made it everybody! The Them's Fightin' Herds Crowdfund has just succeeded!
Them's Fightin' Herds is officially a go! It is time to celebrate! HUZZAH!
I was getting a bit worried for a while there as the rate of money raised was moving frightfully slow, but near the end, the amount just skyrocketed, and smashed through the goal point!
So now, Them's Fightin' Herds shall become a reality! WEEEH! I'm so excited! ^W^
But the crowdfund isn't over just yet! So lets do our best to keep that number raising, and perhaps we can reach the seventh playable character, the Goat, and even reach his/her story line!

Well not really, since the crowdfund is WAY past the goal at this point! $19,000 at this point, and with still two and a half days until the crowdfund closes. They would have still reached that goal without my contribution, and I don't think that I brought any more paying contributors with my advertising, but I am still glad I was able to give the money that I did!
And now, I'm hoping that the fund can reach the Goat character, stage and story goal! Though that would mean that we would have to raise an additional $100,000 and then some... in under three days... Oi...

Well, it looks like that goal may just be achieved! We're only less than $12000 away from that, and the amount raised keeps climing at a decent rate!
Sadly, it's not looking too promising for the goat... Oh well. Maybe we'll see the goat in Them's Fightin' Herds 2? Along with some other awesome characters?
Or maybe Mane 6 will create downloadable characters with the revenue the game generates after the official release?

What am I gonna get? Well... since you're asking (and you'll find out eventually anyway)
I'll be getting:
Access to the concept art gallery
The in game accessory pack
A physical copy of the game (backers edition) and soundtrack (complete)
Those moveset cards
I get to create a lobby accessory as well as a custom sprite for myself
I get to create a custom color palette for one of the playable characters
I'll get access to the bata version of the game once it is at that point
A doodle by Lauren Faust (Totally freakin' awesome prize! ^^)
And my original character will appear in the background of one of the stages! (How cool is that!? )
Yeaaah, I actually gave them a LOT of freakin' money! Probably more than I should have ^^;
But I just wanted to see them succeed so badly, and I also wanted to kinda feel a part of the TFH community!
But I think the biggest reason is that what Mane 6 is doing with Them's Fightin' Herds is pretty much what my personal dream is, and by seeing them succeed in accomplishing that dream, then perhaps there is a little hope for me too?
So, did you donate? If so, what will you get? If you don't mind me asking ^^

Well, from the looks of it, TFH is pretty close to Fighting is Magic where it comes to gameplay, just a lot better!
I know it must have been emotionally tough when Hasbro shut them down like they did, (I for one would have been wholly crushed) but the bright side of that, is that now, Mane 6 are on their way to having their own company with their own game and a following that is already rapidly growing! And they shall be able to make a living doing what they love!
I actually kind of envy them for that, but I am REALLY happy that they could live my dream. ^^

Well, April of 2017 anyway ^^ unless Mane 6 are faced with other setbacks, but yes, I'm excited for it now! ^^
Thanks for donating! Every bit helps, even if you feel it isn't much
I probably would have given more if I could afford it, but I'm not rich, sadly. ^^
I sure will look forward to seeing you in the virtual lobby once it is up and running! And you'll probably kick my butt, cuz I generally suck at fighting games! ^^;
But at least I'll look good!

April 2016 wouldn't be a good time to launch anyway. Street Fighter 5 comes out around then. No fighting game should try and compete with that.
And I'm not great at fighting games either. I started learning to play them about a year ago, and I still can barely win in online SF4.
If you're looking for a good place to start with fighting games, try Skullgirls. It's a solid indie fighting game, and TFH is using the Z-engine that was built for Skullgirls, so the games will likely feel similar.
I've got a spare steam-key for the game if you want it.

A spare steam-key? So is that what those 2-pack and 4-pack are about? Multiple keys for the game?
I just looked up some gameplay videos, and the game looks pretty interesting to say the least. I rather liked Painwheel, she looks pretty badass! XD
Um, sure, I'm interested in a key, since you're offering. Did you want something in return for it though?

I got it in a humble bundle a few weeks ago. I buy pretty much every bundle since it's for charity, and as a result I have keys for a bunch of games I already own.
As far as fighting games go, it's great for veterans and beginners. Check out the character specific tutorials to learn their moves and some combos. Squiggly is probably my favorite design, but Beowulf is who I play best as.
And there's no need for anything in return
