Aidan sent me an image he wanted me to colour a while back- and sent a gorgeous description of the meaning behind this image. Apparently, the entire symbolism is of a pilgrimage that some vagrants to, in the countryside of Spain. I would be afraid to butcher the actual story, so I would advise you to go and see his page about that.

However, on the artistic side; I was worried less about the realism and the accuracy of some aspects of this image- but rather went to accent the vibrant meaning and the atmosphere.
I fixed up Aidan's original sketch in order to bring out the perspective of depth, as well as the composition to draw the eyes toward the characters. My fave part was probably working on the clouds. I love doing clouds they are so therapeutic.
