A somewhat overdue birthday art for my good friend 
Zee-Zee (his birthday was Oct 14)
In this scenario, Zed and Zena have given their son either a catalogue or a cookbook so that he can choose which sort of cake he'd like. Being the generous squirrel that he is, he sought advice from some of his friends who, being very different species, brought some... unique perspectives to the decision-making process:
Zee-Zee Is leaning toward a yummy nut-flavoured cake marketed heavily toward squirrels and similar rodents.
Kaffre Feels a more piscine cat-dessert would go better with the juice being served.
mjbear Likes nuts and fish, but just can't help pushing the hunny cake...
Yosh-E-O Like most ducks, will try and eat anything he can fit in his bill
toddlergirl Has her own.. unique idea. Whether she can actually follow the conversation or just tends to think about this a lot is up to you!
While this pic wasn't especially rushed, it did turn out to be a lot more complicated than I thought it would be and hence some anatomical errors did creep in especially where Yosh-E and I are concerned. Gem's hair's a bit off, but maybe it hasn't been brushed yet? I also messed up her colouration even worse than last time, but hopefully she's still mostly recognizable.
Nevertheless, Zee-Zee, the star of the picture, turned out quite well so I'm pretty happy with the picture and I hope that everyfur featured is happy with their depiction. I will, however, endeavour to practice harder in the hopes that my next pic will be less terrible... :sorry:

Yeah, I tried to think of something reasonably tasty for everyone since I didn't want any of them to be wrong per se. Kaffre's is probably the strangest, but since cats can't taste 'sweet' very well they would probably have to go for a more savoury sort of thing for their species' dessert dishes, I think...
Ooh, choices choices! Which one shall we pick? Gotta make sure it appeals to everyone, from the omnivorous yoshi-ducky to the picky kitty... ^.^

OOOOH kaffre Fankyooo for inclusing me on this. I DO think mudpie is the best kind of cake...mainly cause I can find all the ingredients wen Im playin in the garden so its super easy to make an im not allowed near the cooker fing so mudpie just gets made in the garden too so its the best kinda cake and sometimes yoo can even haf worms in it!!!

Thing about mud pies though is that they're generally more fun to make than they are to eat... Still, I suppose they could be an 'activity' if the grownups don't mind us getting covered in gunk...

You're too hard on yourself, Kaffre. You should celebrate the many victories in art you've achieved in this work while saving the "Oops!" for yourself as a reminder on what you may want to work on in future efforts.
*Snugs* You're far better in art than you give yourself credit for. If you looked back on some of your earliest works, I can guarantee you'd notice so much has improved over the years. This is a sure sign that your work will only continue to improve the more you are able to find time to work on it.
Another helpful tip is knowing how many people don't notice the mistakes unless they are pointed out. So don't worry so much about what you, the artist, think is wrong. Let folks enjoy your work while using what you know you want to do better as inspiration for next time. It'd make me so happy to see you more confident in your work as I get so sad when I read all the ways you feel you went wrong over just enjoying the story you are sharing with us.
<LoL!> You're right about ducks. It also doesn't help Yosh is part Yoshi, too. Yoshies will put pretty much anything in their mouths, too. This makes me think of how hard Yosh's mom and dad had it when he could crawl and grab at things to shove into his beak. They probably over-encouraged the pacifier to keep him from eating up all the dust bunnies. :)

Well, I still like the picture OK, I just know I could've done much better if I'd thought things through a little more, checked the colours, etc. As it happens, nobody I included actually complained so I think I probably did OK.

In any case, I know my mistakes aren't quite so visible to the average viewer (I also made extensive digital corrections), but I can't help thinking of all the things I might've improved,,, Maybe I'd just do best not to draw attention to them next time?
