Friends of mine do this... all year-round. They cease to be seasonal lights, and just dwelling accents.

Actually, I think of Sarah McLachlan's version of "Song for a Winter's Night", which is a really pretty song.

But we have blue Christmas lights in our family room, which is why I was thinking of blue.

I actually did something similar to that on Halloween except I used purple lights.
I love how the only light source is the blue glow. :)

I always wanted to hang lights around the living room, but was told that the tinsel garland was good enough. Hey, wait a minute...I have my own house now! Must...buy...lights!

And FESTIVUS FOR THE RESTOFUS! (Yes... I like Seinfeld)

DO IT! We hang up Christmas lights in the garland. :D

It's kinda funny, every day of the year is kinda like Christmas for me, and then when the holiday season finally does roll around, the inner sadness kinda seeps into my veins... Doesn't help that we don't get snow here. Where I am, there is no such thing as a White Christmas unless you're in the mountains, of course I could go outside and have a black asphalt christmas and have a dirt-clod fight....

I dunno, California Winters really get me down.

Yeah, well were I am we occasionally get a white Christmas. Usually though, we get snow before and after, but never actually on Christmas.

They're quite pretty.

Especially in the dark! They make this soothing light, you can't see too well with it, but it's more of a "let's sit on the couch and look at them being pretty" sort of thing anyway.

I wish more people would put up blue lights, I always think they look cool. They're also hard to focus on for some reason.
