First of all, before I start extrapolating on this picture:
THANK YOU,
wonderduck!!! <3 YOU ARE THE MAN FOR THIS.
Extrapolation in three, two-
The two in the picture are the same person. The two forms are just two different physical identities that this Rex can assume.
So Ax Vorinskathe is known widely as a world-hopper. Being constantly stuck at the physical form of eighteen, he will never fully be an adult and never fully be a child. Ax's entire life has been one long chain of strange events and violent happenings. Something in his creation won't allow him to stop or give up though, he's been this far- how could he stop now?
Originally from a universe known as Tantara, Ax was once a simple child with hopes of growing up to become one of the strongest warriors in the world. Due to something that is still beyond his comprehension, Ax's older brother viciously destroyed everything in his younger brother's life. Unknowing as to why Blade, his older brother, destroyed what both of them had come to know- other than to gain the eternal hatred of his last-remaining family member- Ax set out to find his brother and take out his frustrations on his only sibling.
Almost forty years have passed since Ax set out to find Blade. Along the way he's become a much different person than he once was. At the beginning of his life, Ax was torn with anger and hatred that would lash out at no one in particular. Through the physical training and exhausting lifestyle of being a warrior in Tantara- as well as the companionship of some close friends- young Ax learned slowly that there was more to his life than the anger he constantly held tightly in the hollows of his mind.
Death and Rebirth have a funny way of changing ones perspective on what life really means. Ax finally confronted his brother and lost his life in the horrible strain that the battle took on him. Somewhere in the smoky miasma of his thoughts, he managed to hold onto his own consciousness, his own soul, as he floated through nothingness. The void was cold for a long time before a hand plucked Ax clean of its darkness.
Blade had been dealing in some dark circles to torture his brother this way. The elder sibling pulled his brother from his purgatory only to put him in a world where he would be forced to fight. Ax was cloned from the slight amount of DNA that Blade carried with him to a new universe, and, once the body was finished, the elder sibling made sure that Ax's soul was pushed into it. The body was exactly the same as he'd left it, though his abilities had increased much more than he had once known. The world he'd come to was fraught with violence and technology. His true self wouldn't stay quiet. The real Ax, not the clone, spoke out against his captivity and destroyed the building housing the finished creatures that were to be the war machines of today.
The resulting explosion wiped Ax's memory of anything that had happened in the other world, as well as the memories of anyone still alive after the fiery incident. It would be another ten years of fighting and running that Ax would gain his memories back... Many friends were made and love was aflourish, but the time would not allow it.
The second confrontation with Blade was impossibly more explosive than the first. Ax ascended his physical form to something more celestial in order to quell his brother's manic desire for conflict. Once more, the expense of energy tossed Ax into the void, where he waited once more to come back.
With a bit of luck and more patience, Ax gained his body back- the details are vague, but it was meant to be. From there he began to travel the verses, still hunting for whereabouts of his brother with the nagging hope that the two could confront each other once more...and that he would be the victor this time.
He has returned to Tantara to find it changed in the long journey he'd taken from it. Blade was there...somewhere...
Though he managed to fight it down, Ax's anger had never really ebbed. It became a separate entity in his body, mind, and soul. Several times, the young Rex was forced to struggle with it, fight it down again when he least expected it. When he couldn't control it, the anger would explode through his form and morph it into something much more sinister and powerful.
It would never leave him, and would always be lurking behind him wherever he traveled. Even as he remained Calm, he could never completely rid himself of the Storm within.
Now that I'm done wasting your time with a flowery explanation of Ax, I'll allow you to stare at them nao. :D Enjoy the two sides of this T-Rex.
