So imagine the surprise me and my colleague went through when he found a bunch of quartz crystals in an abandoned mine not far from where I'm currently staying. Yes, they may be abundant, and not worth much...but damn me if they still aren't a pretty sight, and I've never seen them in such big chunks. One of the crystals (not shown here) is big enough to fit in both of my hands and some more.

UPDATE: It turns out these aren't regular quartz crystals, but chalcedony, which is composed of quartz and moganite.
