it the blender version of close to the same little 18" gauge loco as the one in my model photo.
they're not identical, but very close. this was done first. physical model has now reached this same degree of completion.
the rider car, seen in the physical model but not here, i've yet to make a blender model of it, has also reached a degree of completion. (unlike the image here, the layout is still in the bare foam stage, and not nearly as spacious)
always many things in the works. not always quick to emerge.

Just out of curiosity, is the versatile little engine usually driven "Cab Forward," or could it be operated in reverse which saves turning the whole train around? Oh... And I like the way the the lighting works through the "Stained Glass" column to the immediate Left of the figure.
Have you seen those "Simplex" miniature locomotives which have the operator's seat on the Left side of the cab, facing Right? That always bothered me as I get to thinking about how the operator would get a crick in the neck after awhile.

yes and yes, although where the seat and controls are in this one, yes they would certainly get a sore neck running engine compartment first. same i'm sure for the ones on the rh&d. i've seen pictures of the simplex on the ffestiniog, with the operators seat facing sideways, presumably to make it equally uncomfortable to operate in either direction. lots of different designs have been built over the years and all over the world. most based on the idea of keeping everything as simple as they could, also frequint opperation and minimal maintainence. my idea is of course a little different. a very different kind of a world, rebuilding after the fall of the one we live in. by people ("furry" of course) who want to avoid many of our mistakes.
