If I was in his position, I'd do one of two things after I got back to the office; reload and return to the lab to check for evidence and see if the daughter went back there as well...or stay there and try to look up what I could on the apparent cultists. While I know it's the commonly accepted noble thing to do to chase after the cryptic woman in danger in noir-type stories, at the same time, if she's going to be difficult and run off on her own without giving Liam much information, he can't help her much. Hopefully if she's sensible, she'll realize she needs his help and will make contact with him as soon as possible.
Oh, and if he winds up having to catch up to her and she gives him the old "I didn't want to drag you into this mess," reason for running off alone, I hope he gives her a wry grin and says "I think that ship's already sailed, miss."
