While shuffling around some boxes, I found a dusty stack of ancient art from when I was 10-12 years old. I seem to recall, I used to draw a lot of wolf-people stabbing each other. Freudian?
Figured I'd share a little, plus some even older stuff from when I was very wee for good measure!

You can literally watch your talent blooming, even back then you had talent!
It's amazing how much we grow up over the years, isn't it? I've got a big old memory box that I keep a collection of things from over the years, and it's so much fun to go back and look through it =3

hehe, iIdrew some wolves attacking a moose that was all bloody when I was in 1st grade :D
My mom got pulled aside for Parent Teacher Conference because I never drew happy things. (My mom still has that drawing and some other things)
D: D: Everything is so violent. :D I mean D:
Even then you were a great artist :)

Isn't that the same for basically every furry? ^_^
Well, I'm glad the two of you did find the fandom. You two are one of the main reasons I joined.
By the way, out of curiosity, do you both use that FA account? Or is it only one of you. If so, who are you? (Wow, re-reading that, god that sounds wierd...)

I don't really see people stabbing people, more like somebody mourning a fallen comrade or lover. Guessin you were into high fantasy, when you were a kid; I had some scenarios play out in my head similar lol
Cool that you guys actually did something like that. It's inspiring to those that're growing artists. You then and you now, shows that it's possible with time and patience.

I had dragons killing each other, stabbing each other or influencing dreams.
*shrugs*
When the Counselors at my school in their wisdom asked me why, I told them it was better to put the aggression on paper where it did no one harm and my art skills benefited instead. They left it alone after that. ;)

It takes a lot of confidence as an artist to show work from adolescent years, But from the caliber of your other work its apparent that you are quite confident. My ex girlfriend is an artist and she swears if I ever show our friends her old work that she would reacquaint my head with a tire iron. Lolz.
Jeese, you were crap. When you were 10 or 12, anyway.
It's been one of the heartening things over the years, to see how marvellously you've improved. From the perspective of this fandom, some artists just seem to spring into existence able to draw beautifully, as though from the forehead of Zeus (but with less brainy splattering). It's really nice to be able to watch the development of someone's talent, especially with bits of history like this.
I think I shall +fav this one just for the pleasing context it provides.

One fire in the apartment building pretty much destroyed everything i had ever done, including the pictures of my California Christmas stuff. All i have is the ones i did in Michigan, but i'd learned to paint by then.
Even so i used to paint a lot of clipper ships or landscapes, odd how things change in your life. I used to try and draw such nice happy things - peaceful.
Maybe i should have dawn all of them as wolves stabbing each other

haha you were better than me now at 3, and people say talent doesn't matter haha I gotta link this as proof to anyone who thinks if they work hard enough at it they can be as good as anyone else. Natural Talent is what matters and this is pure proof of it you were better than everyone right from the start...
Wow, its amazing when you look back at art you did as a kid compared to today! Even at 10 yrs old u were good ^^ And I agree with odious, because when you look at stuff from when you either first started or when u were really young, it helps to kow you've gotten better, and it's always nice to see where a really well known artist had started off.
Btw, I love that tiger drawing XD made me Lol.

It's inspiring for all to see so graphically how years of practice will eventually lead to perfection, it works for everything in life - that I can guarantee.
Fair play, I'd have to have an injection of steel directly into both my balls to submit some of the stuff I was doing even a few months back let alone stuff from 25 years ago!

God damn you Blotch! Why did you ever have to get utterly fantastic?! Now maybe I just think this because of the fact that I find reality a hideous place of ultimate horrors (hence my preference for cartoons), but I think that these are so much more interesting than most of your "good" art!
....But maybe it's just my contempt for shading....

This might sound rude so please excuse me for that,
But this is awsome, not in the way that I think the art looks incredibly awsome (such a rude thig to say eh?) but in a way that remind me (and probably others too), that everyone starts somewhere, and no-one start completely awsome!
Thus with good practise people can get better over time, A thing I like to remind myself too ^^ (there is hope for me yet, hah)
Thanks for sharing!

It's funny, but I hoped that one day you'll show you really old arts. When I look at my papers from last year and recent I can say I made some progress... But these are much, much more funny^^ I wish I could find MY old stuff ^^
About the deer and wolves attackin' him - very similar to your yiff art from... last year? :P

Dang we were about the same skill level at those ages :D
My problem was that I didn't dedicate myself to 2D I went straight to Sculpture with a little bit of drawing every few months. Which explains why your 2D art is Absolutely Freaking Amazing and why I watch you and hope for new things every day XD

Um... Beginning to regret not having been trained in drawing. The crappy things I draw now cannot even compete with what you did in kindergarten
Maybe I'll take Gongbi training in the future to compete with your watercolor skills. (Of course it'll take me years to achieve that goal! ;p)
The Dino-head Tiger on the middle-left looks cute. :D
The pic on middle-right... Is that the prototype of your earlier piece "Bockjagd"? Looks quite similar.
As for blood... Mmmm, did you tell your friends to cover their eyes? XD
Thanks for sharing this! I really like it!

Good on ya, mate, for being able to keep all that stuff from your yesteryears! I've moved around so much, I don't have much that's older than twenty years... My mother kept a lot of my early efforts, though... Even at three, you were showing talent- sweet!
Always cool to see where we all started, hey? Gee, looking this over, I realize I drew a lot of the same kind of stuff when I was 12 or 13... must be architypal or some such.

Also, this is quite good for a 12 year old. ...Or rather, a 6 year old. But, if you notice, in the top center, there is a cat with a bow. That is talent for a 12 year old. This is not one of those success stories about the disabled kid and how he became the best driver ever. No, this it what being born with talent looks like. She obviously never cared to finalize the majority of her drawings, based on the differences composed between the cat and the.... erm... rest. Some people are, most people aren't. Blotch was lucky.
