Whelp. In short, four or so months ago,
djtemper was enlightening me about Hardstyle and Jumpstyle while telling me that Vangaurd isn't gonna cut it much and I should upgrade to V Station or z3ta. So, asking around and getting a hold of V Station from a friend that berated it in comparison to Nexus, I remarked on how much Hardstyle/Jumpstyle were borrowing from 90's Hard House.
I grew up around Dance living in Chicago most of my life. We had Power 92, B96, WGCI, Jumpin Records, random strip malls with random mix tapes... but didn't grow fond of Hard House in relation to Deep or Vocal, a lot of it was sort of abrasive and I was into more groove/melodic-driven tracks. Of course, over time it grew on me, but listening to Jumpstyle, it's like they upped the tempo, took out some of the groove, added some hard saw, ran it in triplets and made it a little more driving with more focus on the kick. Guess it's great for just fucking around, and I s... I saw the uhh, dance with the same name and w...

yeah, they tend to rename genre's anymore just to repackage them. like hard dance is basically an all encompassing term that describes proggy trance/house. jumpstyle, yikes. they really did take the groove outta that shit. oh well, what'ev. kids these days. i likes me that dark grimey funky shite...also i can't hear the audio on this track, maybe i'm just retarded lol.
I thought that sounded familiar. I just found out about Jumpstyle and Shufflestyle a few weeks ago. Out of the two, Shuffle looks the least cheesy, but it's just so ridiculous I want to learn. (Unfortunately I still have a piriformis problem, so anything with dance is out of the question. :C)
The music style used for the dances usually really aren't my thing (though I've been known to find something good in everything so far.) They kind of give me a headache, but this is quite nice.
