I think it depends on the material used. I have a vagina cast that has fuzzy craft balls set in the silicone, and it still exists in one piece. Of course, I use it as a displayed art piece ( http://www.jolliespleasuretoys.com/.....s-products.htm - polka dot Jollie pic, it looks so cool!) and a handheld stress toy (the craft balls feel like knots when you're pushing on them) rather than a sex toy, so that may explain the prolonged life.
