Here is yet another classic image from my gallery in "The Round House", AND another in a series of handmade greeting card illustrations featuring 'fat furry' characters...
This time, 'Bibok' and 'Lupine' (two corpulent canids from the U.K.) are seen waddling down a snowy path, singing Christmas carols and partaking the usual consumable holiday fare - unaware of the commentary from a critical mole in the lower-right portion of the picture. The song this portly pair is singing is associated with Great Britain - as it contains the lyric "If you haven't got a penny, a ha-penny will do/If you you haven't got a ha-penny, God bless you". So, unless the U.S. Treasury begins to mint out ha-pennies (to compensate for this Recession), this form of currency will remain the overseas standard...
This was originally intended to be the cover art for said greeting card, but I'd screwed up by having this hand-drawn (and hand-colored) image appear on the inside - with the inside message appearing on the cover. Thus, creating my very first (and, hopefully, my last) inside-out card!
