I think the short retractable claws are more functional than the long fixed ones.

Technically the fingers might need to be beefier to accommodate the extension/retraction mechanism for a claw that size, but in all other details that's quite good!

There was a lot of back and forth on how thick to make the fingers to let them house a retractable claw and still be able to do things like fit into a pistol grip.

Well there's always the option of making a bigger pistol grip or pulling the trigger with a claw, but since I don't know the strength requirements for the claw mechanism, I'll let it slide.
