Thanks for the compliments!
It's more of a pudao-styled halberd, so I remember wanting to add a Chinese style sword knot. What I've read (in Shaolin Kung Fu magazine, which is a great resource, but take it with a grain of salt) is that Chinese weapons will have cloth or sword knots as a soft and flowing element to balance out the rigidity of the weapon.

You're so welcome. I wish you had a hundred more pictures in your gallery so I could just browse through and enjoy them all. I love good ink work and yours is so fabulous. I wish I could still you skill/talent and then I might actually be able to be happy with drawing myc omic that's been in the works for years. *L*
I guess that just emans more practicing for me.
I love the large 'Emperor's spears', like the circa middle kingdom really, really long one, now that I look again I totally see that kind of influence. I have a charcater who carries a sort of Hwrangified Korean version. Actually a sort of cultural mangling, mostly Korean but a mix from my head.
It's just such a neat weapon with such big visual impact.
That's cool about the cloth, I always thought the knot work was to identify which weapon belonged to which soldier or clan- I should have known it was asthetic/harmonious. :P

Thank you! I think the more recent inks are a lot better actually. I wish my buddy Phil still had his site up - his inking is what I try to imitate.
As far as a hundred pictures go, I have some stuff up on Deviant Art too, I am Pachycrocuta there. As far as the comic goes, I know the feeling - I still have yet to do mine that I've wanted to make for years!
