Ye Olde Magic Shop Visitor pt. 1 (Story in Description)
The gentle heat of the autumn mid-afternoon sun beats down on your head as you wander the city of Wolfwood aimlessly. The storm last night rained out your plans to check out the Crescent Club, though you’re not sure it would have been your scene anyway. It was suggested to you by a friend and you’d planned to go on a whim. You've seen a lot of what this city has to offer so far. But still you search for something new; something to wow you and maybe even relax you. The Tokyo Bath House was a very nice start, and you’re wandering in search for something more. As you pass by downtown city alleyways a whisper flows across your hearing like a feather on the breeze. "Looking for something?" You turn toward the sound of the voice and see no one. Shaking your head you dismiss what happened as your imagination and contemplate where you should head next.
Just as softly as before the whisper returns. "Maybe I can help." You turn again toward the voice to see a female figure standing down an adjacent alleyway. Your eyes transfix on the mysterious figure as they turn and walk down another alley farther down. You rub your eyes in disbelief. What was going on? That voice couldn't have come from her could it? "Follow me if you want to know more. I promise you won't be disappointed." Came the same voice again. Your curiosity piqued, you take a couple slow steps into the alley to follow the mysterious female.
You walk between the brick buildings and come to the turn she'd made and turn yourself. Just where was she leading you? Another fork and another whisper. "Left." The voice sounded detached, ghostly. But as much as that frightened you, it also spurred you to go on. You were looking for something new. Looks like you found it. At the end of the alley was a single door. It was nestled in the alley far away from prying eyes. Just what was this place.
A flutter of wings and you jump back at her sudden entrance. A bat girl lands just between you and the door. She has purple fur and long hair that transitions from pink to purple. She leans against the wall next to the door and looks you over intently. "Looking for something? Something outside the boring and mundane? How about something with a hint of mystery, or even a little magic? Does something like that sound like something you'd be interested in?" She asked with the same mysterious voice. You nod your head transfixed on her lithe body. She is wearing a black tank top and black short shorts. Just who was she? "Good. My name is Celeste. Welcome to "Ye Olde Magic Shoppe." Stay close though. I may not bite, but that doesn't mean that other things here won't." She says as she turns to open the door and walks inside.
As soon as she's out of sight you feel a rush of relief wash over you. It's as if you have control of your body for the first time in ages. You know this is your last chance to run; to turn and walk away. This might very well be the last bit of sunshine you ever see. You consider it for a moment, but you can't. You've got to know what this place is, and what it holds. Another few shaky steps and you find yourself leaving the outside world behind as the door begins to close behind you.
Here we have the beginning of an interesting trip into Ye Olde Magic Shoppe which is co-owned by Celeste the bat and Sabrina the black cat and helped by Alice the ocelot and Marilyn the white patheress. All of whom are witches and cater to the magical born and attuned furs in Wolfwood and the surrounding area. What does this mean for our visitor? Tune in to part two to find out.
The art as usual is by the awesome
wrytergirl. She drew this more than a year and a half ago, and I've finally got something written to post with it. I hope you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for part two.
