The first of several commissions that I am getting from Dave and Liz Lillie, creators of the Dreamkeepers graphic novel and webcomic. This is the only one that is going to be themed off of the Dreamkeepers universe, so I wanted Dave to do this one first, since its subject matter that he is particularly familiar with.
This particular commission is based off of a certain Dreamkeepers Preludes comic, so some people might get it after seeing it right away, and others might need a reference link to it. If you need the link, here you go: http://dreamkeeperscomic.com/Prelude.php?pg=232
Vi is not a particularly gentle person. Up front, direct, not the type to mince words or sugar-coat a situation. And she has been known to resort to violence, either to make a point or to vent frustration. In this regard, her and Grunn share similar outlets; Grunn throws orphans into the ocean, and Vi gut-punches people. It's a thing. So here she is gut-punching the entire main cast of the Dreamkeepers universe, with one notable exception. She probably doesn't harbor any particular malice towards anyone (with the exception of Tinsel, of course...and possibly Grunn), but it makes her feel better.

I'm pretty sure that if Whip had gotten in line of her fist, he would have gotten decked. But the two things he has going for him is A. He can fly. B. He is a small target. It's too much effort for her to find the gut on him, so she's satisfied with Mace.
And yes, I'll have to ask David about that; we don't really see the full effect in the panel, but I'm curious to know what was going through his mind when he added that in there. ;)

Out of all the characters, Tinsel definitely had it coming, and I wouldn't be surprised if Vi got all of her fist into that one. It certainly took Tinsel's breath away.
Out of the two characters you mentioned, I really love Nainso's face the most. It conveys a look of utter surprise and shock, and the dropping of the stack of documents shows that he was totally unprepared for it. As appropriate, actually...apart from being overly analytical, Nainso is a really nice guy, and probably didn't deserve being punched. But it's for comedy, so hey, it's all good!

Nothing wrong with a hilarious gag comm. from Dave here and there! I wanted him to upload it and he will one of these days maybe, but I got one back at AC 2014 myself http://sta.sh/01xyvv6o0d3f
Igrath is pretty solidly build, and used to Vi's particular temperament. It might have surprised him, but I doubt he is seriously hurt. After the punch, he probably would have just commented aloud, "...really? OK, Vi." And even with as aggressive as Vi is, she's not out to murder anyone. ;)
