*Cue Hype Music and Bandits Breakdown Logo transitioning to Brett Hiddson and Terrence Thursday*
Hiddson: Hello and welcome once again to Bandits Breakdown, your one stop shop for all things Las Vegas Bandits. I'm Brett Hiddson along with Terrence Thursday. Terry, Las Vegas now heads to Easton to finish their two game road trip against a high powered Bald Eagles team.
Thursday: Yeah everywhere you look on the offensive side are All-Pro athletes from Draco Lindwurm's passing ability to the Trio of rushing monsters, (Charles) Snyder, (Cris) Suarez, (Bruce) Staples, and Wide out threats, Delph Adler, Alyssa Hunter, and Pat Bryan. One of the most loaded teams in the league and wanting to impress the home town crowd, the Bandits D will have their paws full trying to contain so much talent.
Hiddson: And that defense is nothing to sneeze at either, probably the most talented 3-4 Defense in the league with a stand out collection of linebackers this could be a tough one to play. But the Bandits are pretty good too, and are looking to once again get a win on the road.
*Highlights begin showing the mentioned Bald Eagles and Bandits players*
Hiddson: Starting off these highlights of the game that went final in Easton. Lindwurm and company ready to give their fans a show, they'd have to wait with the Bandits starting with ball. Already threatening to score, Stapler looking to pass and Sacked by James Nixon for a loss of 6. Bandits would have to settle for 3 points.
Thursday: Yeah a good job bull rushing the guard, getting to Stapler before he could get the throw off. Stapler was lucky not to fumble it, Brett.
Hiddson: Easton would respond with a field goal of their own thanks to Kris Clueton of the premier kickers in the game. Second quarter Bandits driving 3rd and 3, Stapler finds Harris with a nice play for 24 yards to keep the drive alive. Next play Stapler... pressured from the rush.. throws to his checkdown Paige but Intercepted by Tyree Strand!
Thursday: Not the best throw by Stapler leaving it a little too long in the air for Strand to recover and get the takeaway, immediately tackled by Paige. Good thing the Bald Eagles couldn't capitalize.
Hiddson: Next drive for the Bandits, Stapler looking for Bakari to get the first down... Intercepted again, this time by the Fox Carl Willis! Once again no points off the the turnover though.
Thursday: Yeah nice work from the Bandits defense to keep the Bald Eagles offense from capitalizing on the takeaways.
Hiddson: Second half and the Bald Eagles fans are getting restless from the lack of scoring.. and with Justin Brown getting the sack to Draco Lindwurm, easy to be restless, Terry.
Thursday: Yeah, Brett, Brown even the dragon to fumble that ball too, but recovered by the offense and they'd have to punt.
Hiddson: Later in the quarter Lindwurm frustrated after two more sacks in a previous drive trying to go down the field again. Looking for Hunter and... picked off my Marcus Hopper! And No one's gonna catch him as he goes all the way for the Pick 6!
Thursday: Great play by the rookie there. Jumping the route like a hare should and getting a head of steam to return the pick for a huge touchdown.
Hiddson: Breaking the tie 10-3 for the desert desperadoes both defenses stepping up huge as the game went on . Fourth quarter and Stapler with a drive thanks to good field position from Carson's punt return, Trying a sneak on 3rd and 1 but doesn't get it, settles for the field goal. Last chance for the Bald Eagles... Staples looking for the big play on the ground but stuffed by Bennie Sierra. 2nd and 9, Lindwurm finds John Woolridge but for a 4 yard gain. 3rd and 5... Lindwurm finds Staples for a two yard gain. 4th and 3 Lindwurm.... Incomplete! Trying to find Pat Bryan but couldn't come up with the catch and the Bandits get the win 13-3 to cap the two game road trip.
Thursday: This game ultimately showcased the defenses canceling out two talented offenses, but it was the Bandits D and Marcus Hopper's pick 6 that made the difference.
Hiddson: Even so the offenses still put up some numbers. Sylvester Stapler went 14 for 20 for 186 yards and two picks. Stephen Harris with 6 catches for 75 yards. Roy Viridi-Aqua quietly or not so much with 5 catches for 98 yards. But out player of the game is the Hare with the only touchdown, Marcus Hopper with 6 tackles, a defended pass, and a Interception returned for a touchdown.
We'll take a short break but when we return, an interview with the player of the game and a preview of the Bandits hosting their next match with the California Dons.
