Like Emiko, this is the line art from a Hit the Beach submission, though this one has not to date been used (as I just sent the final version in a few minuites ago, and don't know if it got there in time to make the book)
Neri Mani Aiyer is another furbidden realms character, this one is my own creation. I felt I should open his presence in this gallery with a picture that makes his gender obvious, because when he's clothed or when seen from behind, he tends to be mistaken for a fem.

Personally speaking, I believe this should be colored. However, this is just my opinion. For what value that it's worth is up to you.
Though I say it should be colored here because I happen to like how you drew the water effect. Well...the rippes on the water. I haven't seen anyone do that with a sketch. That's usually done with some photoshop fancy effect. I'll applaud you for that instantly.
Now, as I'll stray from that, you did happen to cover what you were getting across- showing Neri's gender as male. I suppose that, much like in anime, if the character isn't practically naked, it'd be impossible to tell.
It's good framework of the character too that you have. I mean, it's cool to see what you have the lines that define where his chest muscles and outer abdomen would be, regardless of how slender.
And yet, what I found myself amazed at? The hair.
Not the length of it, but how it's soaked and floating atop the water behind him. Now that I mention it, his hair also has a very nice manner to which is happens to cascade down his right shoulder [As he's facing the crowd] and then billowing down behind him.
...That's rather pretty, as I feel the word best used here.
This happens to be lovely illustration in my opinion.
Once again, even if uploaded past a year ago.
