During the course of the war there were a myriad of instances where pilots of the various nations joined forces to fight the great threat to the world that was the 3rd Reich. One such instance occurred on a cold winter. An American pilot and a Russian pilot joined forces to defend a group of trapped infantry from advancing armor. With naught but a roar of engines and the blare of their guns the pair dove into the fray, flying and fighting until their planes were bare and support finally arrived. As the duo were recalled to their respective bases they made a final pass over the troops, moving in unison and giving a quick acknowledgement to the other and a waggle to the troops below before heading home, a job well done and friendship sparked.
