I've been using a blue enfield as a sona for about 5 years now. The nice thing about them is that nobody has any expectations about how they're "supposed to be", so nobody ever tells me that I'm "doing them wrong" such as would happen with many other more well-known symbols.

I can agree here! With so little precedent on them, and given their use as a tinctured creature in Heraldry you can really do them in any colour you like and it works just fine~! Not to mention the history they have associated with them, just a fun creature all around.
