In today's episode, the Master of Elfhame has a confab with one of the detectives of the Constabulary, and roughs out the timeline of the treasonous conspiracy against the Crown that had occurred years before, and which had used Jane, the Lowfolk Femme as a tool of planning.
But that's not all. Another familiar figure (one created by
tegerio) unexpectedly turns up while Westersloe Winterbough tries to confirm a few facts. Not only is this figure able to provide key insights as to what may have happened during the conspiracy...he may have information regarding one of the conspirators...
Aside from creating this familiar figure, of course,
tegerio is also the creator of the world of Faerie in which these stories take place. I'd also direct your attention to "Pillar of White Flame" here on F.A., written by

Fuma favors our boy, doesn't she? Meeting an acquaintance who knows something about the people involved...
But it seems that we do have a live traitor to catch, and one who has a motive for destroying the Red Copies. Wonder if Fawkes has a northern accent...? Pity WW5 didn't think to ask that. Or not yet, perhaps?

This chapter is a good complement to the previous chapter... much of the rationale for the elaborate cypher and mapping is made clear. These questions and answers also show how the weekly issues of "Jane, the Low-Folk Femme" were an active link and common connection with many of the upper & creative classes in Elf society.... How connected the many elves were through the art, writing, and publication of "Jane". It was an accepted part of some of the administrators of Elf society, yet also with built-in excuses of 'preserving propriety' to excuse secret communication and meetings in disguise.
