Not approved by most LARP groups for actual in-game use, but fun as hell to use with your friends for your own games. The heft and length makes it a little more dangerous than your typical duct tape sword, but as long as you're careful about not swinging too high and you fight within your skill level, nobody should get concussed.
About 4-5 feet long and 6-8 inches wide

I assume just for liability reasons. Some of the groups have pretty strict rules about combat and approved weapons. These types, given their length, lend themselves too easily to going ham on someone. When I've used them at least, the force it takes to swing them into position when you defend or advance can cause the tip to accelerate a hair faster than you might intend, and the momentum can cause you to go off balance and accidentally whale somebody harder than you intended.
No, just a bolt and some washers in the handle to attempt to balance it out. They have about five layers of foam and are totally insulated with the duct tape to keep them sturdy though. It's mostly just the length. They're just crazy long like a zweilhander, with a bunch of padding.
