The atrocity divide is a card game (?) that began as an illustration project. I wanted to capture a world of cruel but necessary conflict as a stage for the aesthetics of visceral horror, violence, and desperation I enjoy seeing in fantasy games. When I started I was not sure if it would be a card game, inspiration for a comic series, source work for a video game, miniatures, or a role playing kind of deal so concentrated a lot on just the world itself.

Over the years I have worked on it I have produced hundreds of black and white images, though continually put off doing them as colour till I had a definite game direction that I was inspired to follow. At present I have written three different versions of card rules and been so dissatisfied with them on completion that I scrapped everything but the art.

I decided to post the colours I have done in hopes I might inspire myself to do more of the colours or solidify a direction for the game design as well as offer more of an introduction to my unpleasantly dark imagination. So I guess these pieces are conceptual with distant aspirations of ending up on some playing cards.

These are some of the oldest illustrations I have done for the project and look to my eyes dated now,… but what the hell,.. at least it is something to post till I get access to a camera again to show of my sculpting.

This is an iconic image of one of the Antheran faction's most revered warriors, the Kinghtritter of the Great Order holding a Durmanium sword of victory in one hand and the all consuming flame of technological advancement in the other. It embodies the Antheran drive to conquer defeat no matter the cost with a noble bearing and rational mind.
