As fun as it is playing with the little rat between his toes, Hellfarch still has another poor sap to hunt down, as per the rules of his game. But it'd be a waste to leave such an entertaining foot toy behind. While the cage around Hellfarch's neck is reserved only for the person playing the game--to become their new home if and when they lose--Hellfarch can "capture" others in a more direct way, and a tasty one at that.

Normal maps! Good gravy, it's amazing how a few skin normals can go such a long way in giving a model real texture. I may have overdone it a bit, especially on the face, but I think it looks much better than the almost totally flat skin he has in the previous pictures. I've also managed to get down a good, easy system that'll make setting up scenes quicker, so it'll be much nicer making renders in the future.

Thank you! I haven't tried my hand at animating in Maya just yet. I'm a little intimidated by it, actually, since I've never used Maya's animation controls and things tend to break when I pose still characters as it is. Not to mention Hellfarch's rig is pretty hackneyed; I can't get him to put his hand behind his head without his shoulder collapsing in on itself, for example, and he currently only has IK controls for the hands and legs (and none for the spine or head). He's my first real attempt at rigging, and I never really thought I'd animate with him so I mostly only put thought into things that could give me a quick-and-dirty single pose. I would love to be able to animate one day, but I feel too swamped with all the immense prepwork to try it.
