I had someone I care about a great deal tell me once that they'd considered suicide at one point during the time I knew them. That was pretty shocking.

Sometimes people that seem stable and strong have a weakness which, under critical circumstances, can turn out to be fatal.

So I'd say Ristin having considered just sitting down on a park bench or something until the snow covered him is not altogether outlandish, given what happened to him lately. Saved by a neon sign.

The coffee shop guy might be God. I'm not sure. We have this idea about God being endless and infinitely powerful. Maybe he's not. Maybe he put almost everything he had in the creation of the universe and that's why he rested on the seventh day.

I mean, who else would keep a coffee shop open 24/7? On Christmas?
