so this was really fun to play as Last night.
just went around the neighborhood with this thing on
and I rigged up a candy bag in the mouth so I could trick or treat at houses and
eat peoples candy with a giant cardboard monster head.
this was a lot of fun and this didn't take more than an hour to make.
I was a bit of a smart ass to some of the kids who I "thought" were
harassing me at first but i think in hindsight I was the bigger douche.
Teenagers who kept thinking I was one of their friends kept insisting
that I was "Jayden...or Jason" and then they asked how I made my costume,
to which I replied in a silly monster voice "I'm just as God made me"
so if you want to get strange teenagers off your ass just be a freak, lol.
but I had my designated kid there (my daughter) who really helped me out
a ton, considering I couldn't see or hear very well in this thing.
so to not be an asshole now, I"ll explain the mouth,
it's a cardboard box that I chopped the bottom piece off and used a thin
wire to tie back together so the mouth could slide up and down, and the eye
is a balloon, I also tethered up an old pair of suspenders inside so it would
hold it's balance. it's 90% cardboard and ducktape, lol.
I paid less on this costume then everyone else did for the candy to give out.
at the end of the night though it was really cold, but I had very little breeze in there
and I was sweaty, lol, and sadly as I took it off for the night the jaw snapped and I
had no idea how to fix it, so I gave that big silly head a farewell and cut out the
nice pair of suspenders and then laid the remainder in the recycling bin.
really easy and quick with very little mess,
we then retreated into the house to finish up the night by watching the original
Fright Night with grandpa.
this is probably the first time I've trick or treat'ed in almost 20 years,
now my daughter wants me to make a Five Nights at Freddy's "foxy" head.
I think I can do it, but wow, that will take a bit more learning then a disposable
cardboard box, lol.
