Fighter pilot, 112 Eskadra Mysliwska, III/1 Dywizjon Mysliwski, Brygada Poscigowa, Polish Air Force, Fall 1939
Polish hound pilot with his mount, P.Z.L. P.8/I. a purely fictional scene since P.8/9/10 never reach production stage and only two prototype of P.8 were built, P.8/I and P.8/II respectively
The P.8 was loosely based on the P.1, retaining the slab-sided fuselage and strut braced gull wing characteristic of Pulawski's fighters throughout the 1930s. Despite official preference toward radial engines Pulawski won authority to develop a new fighter powered by V-12 engines up to 800 hp (600 kW). The two fighter designs which emerged were designated P.8 and P.9. Two power-plants were fitted to the two prototypes; the P.8/I was fitted with a 640 hp (480 kW) Hispano-Suiza 12Mc; the P.8/II was fitted with a 760 hp (570 kW) Lorraine 12Hfrs Pétrel Chasse.
Flight testing of the first prototype began in 1931, with the second prototype following in 1932, competing in that year's International Air Meeting in Warsaw and the 1932 Salon de l'Aeronautique at Paris. The P.8/I was also due to appear at the 1932 Zurich Meeting, replacing the P.8/II but was damaged beyond repair during a landing at Innsbruck. Beset by cooling problems and with the death of Pulawski in 1931, the Department of Aeronautics could not be persuaded to continue with development of V-12 powered fighters, continuing development of the radial engined P.Z.L. P.7.
The marking is based on operational P.7 and P.11 on late 1930's. Polish air force machines carries registration number with type prefix such as 6 for P.7, 7 for P.11a and 8 for P.11c. since P.8 never entered service i took some liberty and use P.11a's prefix, hence 7.11 registration number. logo of 112 Eskadra Mysliwska (Fighter escadrille) is partly hidden behind the pilot
Oh, yeah. i think it's worth mentioning that i draw this with the old wooden pencil, i recently lost my mechanical pencil (on where i study engineering if you lose something more than 24 hours you'd better forget it) so i had to revert back to wooden pencil, back to schrrk.. schrrk.. schrk..

Thanks V! yes, building my own plane would be one of my goals of life, a life long dream really, but i will build anything as long as it fills my pocket. though i'm kinda expecting to end up on GE after graduating
but most of all, in a third world country like mine, there's only two degree that can guarantee a decent job: Dr. and Ir. (S.T. (B.E.) for a fresh graduate though)

I have tried to make some plastic model (mostly academy) but i feel it's too expensive for me, moreover i'm not that good in painting
Instead i prefer paper / card models, you can see some finished one on my DA: http://rajaahsani.deviantart.com/ga.....5026661/Models
one of my ongoing project:
