Rains of November
I've always liked November.
It's an easy month to like when the sun is shining and illuminating all the bright autumn colours of the trees, filling the streets with golden warmth despite the brisk chill of the air.
It's a bit harder to like when it's just cold and dreary and constantly overcast or drizzling or properly raining, and it feels like the world will never again be anything other than grey and brown and soggy and cold.
But I like it anyway.

There really is. :) I felt this way about autumn when I was in Michigan and Iowa too, but in England the rain and overcast and gloom just feels that much more defining and iconic, somehow.
*hugs your nose softly* Good to have news to give! Work's been keeping me busy enough lately that I haven't had much time or energy to give to creative pursuits, so I was happy to be able to do this.

*tailwags happily* Thank you for saying so. :) It's been hard to find time and energy to draw lately as I say, so when that's the case it's hard to feel like I'm really progressing any with my art, so it's fun to still be able to try new things and have them turn out well and feel like I'm still developing.
Given said issues about time and energy I certainly can't promise anything about doing a picture of you and me, but it's a really fun idea to keep in mind. :) It would be really neat to do. I really should push myself more often to draw something other than just myself all the time. XD 'Swhat I get for being a vain dragon... *hugs!*

*chuckles quietly* Oh, I understand entirely, good drake. And it was merely a suggestion. It's simply that I, well, I do rather like you, spiffy drake that you are, and I think it would be rather fun to be able to spend some time with you, if "only" in the form of art.
*gives your muzzle a little lick and them bumps his hips to yours* Mmm. It can be very difficult to find the time and the energy to do anything creative when your energies are directed elsewhere. My friends would say it's extremely ironic of me to say this - given how much trouble I have with the same issue - but I'd suggest finding 5 or 10 minutes or so, even, at the same time every night to doodle or sketch, to hold a pencil or pen or stylus in your claws and make... stuff. *noses* That way you keep the feeling still there and you don't associate creativity with feeling grungy and angsty. *nosenose*

*wags his tail softly and nodnods, draping a wing over you* I feel the same way. In the absence of having the time to actually, you know, be online and hang out with you there, sharing space in artwork feels like a neat way to still 'spend time together' after a fashion. It is a really fun idea, that I will certainly keep in mind. :)
It's very much as you say about time for creativity. It's hard to find time for it when everything else is busy, you really have to push to make the time. I should try harder to do so though. On top of other things, I keep having technical issues with my tablet lately, but... screw that, I can go old school and bust out my pencil and paper and do more with that. Lends itself well to a quick 5-10 minute sketch now and then! And as you say, works toward separating 'drawing' and 'being cranky at my tablet for not working.' ^^

*smiles and purrs, curling his tail around one of your ankles as you enwrap him in a wing* Mmm. *smiles* I'm honoured that you'd like to hang out with me. I'd certainly like to hang out with you, very much. *noses again and purrs* Spiffy, awesome drake that you are. Heh.
Making time for creativity is difficult. Especially when you're working, in relationships (like that's going to happen to me), dealing with the minutiae of RL, or whatever. I think also important is not "laying the 'should' down on yourself": there's no "should" about it, sweet drake. It's just a thing, okay? *chuckles and nuzzles at you quietly as he purrs, giving your ankle a squeeze*

*prrrrs and flexes his paw happily, leaning against you* I would very much love to hang out with you. ^^ You are a very spiffy drake yourself. And yeah, even outside of work there's a lot of little things going on when you own a house and a dog and are in a relationship and just... all of it. It's something you need to decide is important enough to make time for, but I get what you mean about avoiding 'should' too. Creativity gets too easily ruined when you make it an obligation or responsibility. It's something I always want to keep fun and relaxing. :)
*purrs, enjoying the nice snuggle with the handsome dragon* Oh... why, thank you, lovely dragon! *blushes and smiles* Thank you. I can only imagine about all those things you describe. I run from a lot of them, honestly, and it's... heh. Oh, that's a whole other thing. But I can imagine. *nuzzles at you softly and gives your muzzle a lick*
"Should" is a bitch of a word. Gets in the way of so many nice things. I've found. Grr. *noses, and tailsqueezes your ankle*

*is enjoying the snuggle too* ^^ It is true! I find you very spiffy. And yeah, 'should' is one of those words that... okay, it's hard to avoid when it comes to work and whatnot, but for personal life and things that are meant to be fun, I think it's a good word/concept to avoid being compelled by.
Oh o.o'
November is not only grey and rain. If the weather is good (as here in these days), the sky is a deep blue without clouds and with the yellow trees, the atmopshere is very good! ^.=.^
And with the mountains in backgrond...*.=*
So, great picutre, by the way! ^.=.^

Oh, I know. :) We've had pretty nice sunny autumn weather here lately too, so yeah, November isn't JUST gloom. Where you are it sounds beautiful. :) But the message here is that even when it is gloomy I still enjoy it. ^^
Thanks very much for your kind words, I'm very glad you like!

You know i'm kidding, I'm sure you have your life and future set there, and that's your life, not mine.
I think as long as I had hot tea, warm friends, and maybe... I dunno, a pet store heat lamp? I could make it in the UK.... XD heehee. Well okay I'd miss steamed crabs and my national parks. Not to mention friends. OKAY lemme rethink this... /)@_@;(\
MY POINT IS haha.... X3 *hugs* *shivers from rain* *pushes clouds out, sunny spot to warm on* :>

Yeah I know. ^^ I'm obviously rooted here for the long term, but I miss my homeland too. It's an unfortunate quirk of being an expat, always missing somewhere.
England hasn't been too hard for me to adjust to in terms of the weather, since Michigan does a lot of similar things. England still gets plenty of sun, some of it even in the winter, you just learn to watch out for it and really appreciate it when it happens. The rain isn't constant either, but a lot of time does pass with the sky just being nondescript and grey. I soak it up when the weather is nice, and when it's more like pictured here, well, I've learned to enjoy that too for what it is. :) Though having a comfy hoodie and a sharp leather jacket and a spiffing flat cap does help.
Having a Kurra would help too though. *big fluffy warm hugs*
