what did you use to make the the head piece?? o.o

First I made the basic shape in wire and then used a wire mesh to get a more 'filled in' version (http://iconosquare.com/p/1079071660.....60202_29201763 the black on the eyes are like a mesh). Once that was pretty stable I just stuck some paper mache(or i think its called like fast mache/paper cement) type stuff on top and sculpted it a little (http://iconosquare.com/p/1079132032.....67342_29201763). Sanded it down and painted it. I did the same with the antlers but had them separate at first, then just inserted them into the skull piece and attached them with more of the paper mache. The eye balls (and teeth under the skull and little tusks) are cast resin (teeth are sculpey).
And then stuck it on a hat haha x) It could be sturdier but I got a bit lazy towards the end. The fur hood is just velcro-ed onto the top of the skull

oh! for a second I thought you used resin ( the material they use for fursuit heads) but this method is actually more flexible. I like it. :D Thanks for sharing your process :) Did you bring it to school ? if you did, damn it would have been awesome to see it XD

It turned out really light! I don't know how well it would support fur suit type stuff but I'll have to look into it (I've attempted at one fur suit head and gave up halfway through hahaha)

Yeeep I brought it to school, had to lug it through the subway too haha xD it was pretty annoying but nothing broke so that was a relief. x) I wore it for a few minutes in class (thats where the picture was taken) but it was way too hot to keep on, my teacher (Glenn... if you've heard of him, he's awesome you definitely need to take him) wanted us to parade around the campus with them on but they were all to fragile for it haha

I hope it wasn't crowded when you had it in the subway X_x but glad it survived XD is way worse when you have to bring a huge canvas with wet oil paint on, in a crowded subway. X_x everybody getting dirty XD Oh lol that would have been cool XD What class does he teach ??? 3D ?

Oh yea oil paint it probably the worst! And yea, 3D class and sometimes animation 2 and also he might be doing thesis next semester/year I'm not sure
