'I heard you tellin' lies
I heard you say you weren't born of our blood
I know we're the crooked kind
But you're crooked too, boy, and it shows
Some get dealt simple hands
Some walk the common paths, all nice and worn
But all folks are damaged goods
It ain't a talk of "if," just one of "when" and "how"'

I felt like drawing Summer and Once again, so I took a little break from drawing my cats from Memoires. Both of them are from the same universe that Project Split takes place in; they are both experiments from a project to create animal soldiers that would fight on behalf of the Order, and so they attempt to find the perfect balance of animal and machine.
Summer is born in the Order and is on a very fine line between dog and machine- she is mute and doesn't really need to eat to survive. She is very childlike and doesn't understand concepts such as death or freedom, and simply follows whoever she is told to follow. She can however behave aggressively at random moments, and though she cannot bite, her claws can do a lot of damage.
Once, before he dies and becomes End, is born in a valley that is considered to be a safe haven from the outside world, as those who leave either don't return or come back changed drastically (often at the hands of the Order). As a young cat Once is determined to find out what is happening to the valleys residents and leaves. The Order attempt to 'weaponize' him, and arm him in various ways- they remove one of his eyes and implant a camera so that they can see how animals perform in the situations they are put into, and implant a controlling chip into the base of his neck. He escapes with Summer and takes care of her to the best of his abilities, as he can understand her way of communicating. He tries to return to the Valley but cannot remember where it is.
When he becomes End he has very few memories of his life and is charged with leading souls into the Afterlife. He has vague memories of Summer and she recognises him even as a faceless-undead-cat-spirit.
