What became fan-art of this monster became an experiment in art techniques.
Here, I sketched in MyPaint due to the 'practically-infinite canvas' that gives a lot of freedom when sketching. Taking cues from this tutorial, I did the outline in Kscape using the Bezier tool (though I later discovered that MyPaint has a similar tool... I should check out the tool myself...) and the colouring in MyPaint again (because of the palette I imported from the X11 colour palette into MyPaint).
In this version, I did the rest in FireAlpaca, attempting to follow the tutorial here and
achelladuega's demonstration here. Though I picked the light yellow (in highlighting) from My Paint palette, I benefited a lot from both the fur brush here and the 'magic wand' tool.
