Raymond's preparation for his evening out with Ruth was going just how he had desired it to. Their marriage of eleven years had been filled with adventure, danger, romance, and more delights than either of them could shake their tails at. And tonight was to be no exception to the law they never spoke or decreed - to live their lives to the contentment of their hearts.
Love was never far away, whether inside or outside of their boundaries. Like Ruth, the other half of the archetypal skunk and cat couple, he loved the thrill of the chase, and he couldn't contain himself at the thought of pursuing an attractive mate at any cost to himself. And any time they quelled each other's flaring desires even for a moment, they would not stay so for long - it was as though they were both always in love, though despite their antics, they had never once doubted that they would be together for an eternity. From the very first moment they had met in their high school, they were deeply in love. What did their differing species matter when they were so happy together?
Just as he was putting on his favourite necklace, there came a knocking at the bedroom door. He hadn't put on his shirt yet, but knowing who was there was enough for his heart to give a leap.
"Come in, my favourite skunk." purred Raymond. And without a moment's wait, she slinked into the bedroom, clad in her favourite clothing - a matching black minitip and black miniskirt, complete with a bright red armband on her left wrist. It was nearly too much of a sight for him to resist pouncing onto her with his claws outstretched, and he found himself beginning to loudly purr as he looked her over.
"How do I look, mi amor?" smiled Ruth.
"Ruth," smirked Raymond, "you look just as beautiful as you did on our wedding day." Ruth's face fell.
"Aw come on, Ray," she wheedled, coiling her thick, bushy tail around his body, "I prefer it when you talk dirty to me!" He thought for a moment. Then he remembered what she did like to hear.
"How about this?" he pondered. "I just wanna slap that ass of yours right now." The two of them shared a giggle as he did so, before they trotted out of the room together and headed for the foyer.
"That's more like it." grinned Ruth. "Are we gonna do what we always do on our dates?"
"Oh, without a doubt!" replied Raymond enthusiastically. "And I won't even need to paint my back and tail this time, will I?"
"Oh, I don't know about that!" laughed Ruth. And as they climbed into their car, Raymond know that this night was off to a good start. He could barely wait for their date to begin.
Now I bring you Sharp's brother in law Raymond, a deviation from her family somewhat given he's the only member of her family who is not a skunk.
NuudleHead is the artist behind this piece, and I think she's drawn him wonderfully! If this isn't a kitty who's ready for a great night out, then who knows what he is?
